And we’d like to encourage more manuscripts in this category to be submitted, including experimental medicine trials. High-quality clinical trials complement the journal's traditional strength in disease mechanisms by completing the translational arc: from understanding the causes of neurological and psychiatric disorders to demonstrating how that knowledge can improve patients’ lives. For this reason, we are willing to expedite review of trial manuscripts if authors request this.
